Sussex, with its 140 miles of coastline and acres of countryside, including the South Downs National Park, is home to more than 1.7 million people, the majority of whom receive good quality support, care and treatment most of the time.
We have a growing population and one that is also aging, both of which mean that demands on our NHS are set to increase. In Sussex we know that for our services to be able to keep pace with the ever-growing demand, we need to work in partnership, across the NHS and beyond.
As part of our commitment to collaboration, NHS Sussex, University Hospitals Sussex and Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust, have decided to work together on the recruitment of Non-Executive Directors to each of their Boards.
Each organisation has its own approach, culture and way of working and each has slightly different requirements from its NEDs, but all three organisations are united in their vision of doing all that they can to improve the lives of local people by supporting them to live healthier for longer and by ensuring they have access to the best possible services when they need them.
