South West Academic Health Science Network - Executive Director of Implementation

Executive Director of Implementation

Working in collaboration with regional partners and AHSNs across England, our purpose is to transform lives through innovation.

All our work is grounded in the context of our region: Cornwall and Isles of Scilly, Devon and Somerset. We support our partners to identify and spread innovation that tackles the shared challenges we face improving health across a complex mix of rural, coastal and urban communities.

In the last year alone, we have supported over 170,000 patients in the South West and leveraged nearly £7.5M of investment funding into the region.

In this, our tenth year of operation, we are launching ambitious plans to address the key problems facing people across our peninsula.

To realise our ambitions in enabling the maximum impact from research and innovation in the South West, we have created a new role in our senior team: Executive Director of Implementation.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will have accountability for our implementation directorate, leading our work to implement proven, evidenced-based innovation at scale. Working with our partners across the South West peninsula, you will lead a team of implementation specialists to support health and care partners to adopt and spread innovation.

To succeed in this role, you will be deeply committed to improving health and economic growth, and have a desire to deliver impact for the people of the South West. You will have significant experience of leading the implementation of innovation and/or transformation of health and care pathways to improve population health and enhance health and care system productivity. Operationally credible with executive leaders in the NHS, you will have experience of working at or close to board level within or alongside the NHS, or in management consultancy or other relevant sector. We would welcome your passion for digitally enabled health and care, using data, evidence and public experience to inform design of innovation.
