Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust – Site Director of Capital, Estates and Facilities – Denmark Hill
We are looking for an exceptional Site Director of Capital, Estates and Facilities to join our team at Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation (KCH).
KCH is one of the UK’s largest Trusts, with a turnover of £1 billion, 1.5 million patient contacts a year, and around 14,000 staff based across five main sites in south east London. Since opening in 1840, KCH has built its reputation as a Shelford Group teaching hospital, with roots that lie firmly in the heart of our diverse inner-city community. Our clinical specialties such as diabetes, neurology and fetal medicine are largely driven by the health problems of the people around us. We are an internationally recognised centre for innovation; from having one of London’s leading trauma centres, running one of only three Hospital Helipads in London which serves a trauma population of 4.5million, to being a major European liver transplant unit. Against this landscape, there is no better time to join KCH, and be part of our strategy that will shape south east London’s healthcare.
Reporting to the Director of Operations of the Essentia Group and the site Chief Executive, the incumbent will be primarily responsible for ensuring the Denmark Hill site is fit for purpose. You would ensure efficient and effective day-to-day management of the estate and have overarching responsibility for all in-house and outsourced Estates and Facilities services. Working closely with the Executive team, you would make a substantial contribution to the strategic leadership of the site and lead on the delivery of all hard and soft FM services.
The role is highly autonomous, requiring interpretation of national policy and strategies, and involves the analysis, synthesis, and regular communication of highly complex, sensitive, and contentious information both within the Trust and with external stakeholders. The successful candidate will thus have a deep commitment to integration, with a clear understanding of how to navigate new ways of working. If you are an experienced leader who can engage with key individuals at the most senior level and possess the communication skills to influence and win trust through a values-driven approach, you could be the integral asset which helps accelerate the delivery of Denmark Hill’s priorities.
We strongly encourage applications from all sections of the community, particularly from under-represented groups, including disabled people and members of our black, Asian and minority ethnic communities to improve the diversity of experience within our senior leadership team.
