These are exciting and challenging times for the NHS, both nationally and locally, and we now have an opportunity to refresh our Board and appoint one new Non-Executive Director (NED), to provide constructive and independent challenge and support, diverse insight and strategic input; and ensure that we have robust systems of risk management and governance in place.

To achieve this, we are seeking applications from people who are passionate about high quality healthcare and delivering outstanding services across the system and whose background, experience and identity will broaden and enhance the breadth of our leadership perspective and style in navigating both current and future challenges.
The ideal candidates will bring senior-level ‘lived’ and professional experience of the issues that affect the health and wellbeing of the communities the Trust serves; a strong alignment to our core values; and direct experience of promoting and enabling diversity of thought and delivery. In terms of specific skills, we are keen to bring in someone with experience of implementing, in any sector, large-scale change management and transformation programmes at pace; or of effectively developing a more equitable culture within an organisation, amplifying the voices of those who are less often heard; or someone with knowledge of the health and social care sector, and experience of successfully challenging health inequalities.
We are interested not just in your professional qualifications, but also your motivation; the difference and insights your knowledge, expertise from your background, experience, training or career progression could bring to Board discussions; and how you will contribute to the effective governance and diversity of the Trust Board.
