Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust (RSFT) is a clinically-led NHS trust focused on providing world-class, joined-up care for the communities we serve; bridging the gap between hospital and community services. Moving beyond our immediate geographical boundaries of Guildford and Waveney, our cancer centre provides diagnosis and treatment to patients across the wider Surrey region and has been recognised as one of the UK’s leading centres.

Our Board is an inclusive and collegiate space, where colleagues support and also challenge each other to deliver better outcomes and experiences for our staff and patients and we see ourselves as very much a learning organisation – keen to continuously improve through innovation, research and development.

We are now looking to appoint a new Non- Executive Director (NED) to join the Board. Applicants must have a genuine commitment to patients and the promotion of excellent health care services; they must be able to embrace and role model the Trust’s values; and they must be able to add value, independence and rigour to strategy development. Beyond this, we are specifically looking for an innovative, forward looking and engaging NED with significant digital expertise and an ability to communicate the potential benefits of digital transformation to a wide audience.

We are keen to consider candidates who can also bring diversity of thought, background and protected characteristics – while the Board as a whole currently has good age and gender diversity, we are less representative, for example, of the ethnic diversity we see in our staff and in the communities we serve.
