The Hospital Director will work in partnership with the Site Director of Nursing, taking joint accountability for the management and leadership of the Hospital Site, including delivery of safe and high-quality clinical care and the best possible patient experience. The Hospital Leadership Team will support the Divisional Triumvirates to achieve and excel all local and national performance targets and standards (e.g. waiting times, productivity targets and activity levels) within budget and resource availability.

The post holder may assume the Senior Responsible Officer role for any capital redevelopment works for their respective sites, ensuring good project governance, and delivery within agreed timescales and resources. The post holder will be responsible for managing the Trust’s relationship day-to-day with ICS commissioned services delivered from the respective site and the surrounding community, in conjunction with Site Director of Nursing. The post holder will support the Divisions in developing a clear, detailed and shared understanding of the respective sites’ performance, flow and configuration and using this understanding to inform better operational decisions and the planning and prioritisation of change. The post holder will support the development of integrated care strategy and business within the Sussex ICS, inline with Trust-wide strategy and standards, liaising with ICS officers and provider partners, and working closely with the Chief Delivery and Strategy Officer’s team and Executive Team. Hospital Directors will work together, with assistance from the Site Director of Nursing and Divisional Triumvirates, to form and drive a coherent strategy and change agenda to achieve the quality and finance expectations set out in the Clinical Strategy , including the cross-site standardisation of clinical practice, operational processes and reporting and the realisation of other benefits from our Patient First Improvement System.
