This is an exciting opportunity to join our Trust as our future Head of Planning & Programmes. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Planning & Strategy, you will play a key role in ensuring that appropriate frameworks and processes are in place to manage annual operational and business planning processes, as well as agreeing strategic priorities. This crucial leadership role will provide support to our Clinical Divisions and Corporate Services departments in developing their operational and business plans, with a view to making the Trusts delivery of services to patients as strong as possible.
We are looking for a high-calibre professional to lead our Planning and Programmes function. You will bring a depth of experience across planning, programmes, operations and analysis in a complex organisation. This role offers the opportunity to work with clinical teams, have regular contact with executive directors and provide input to a range of complex challenges and improvement opportunities across the organisation. You will therefore need to be sophisticated in your communication and comfortable describing complex problems in straightforward ways to senior audiences and will be known for delivering results in the face of a demanding agenda.
Manage the planning and programme team to oversee the governance and management of key projects and programmes as agreed aligned to the organisational priorities
Oversee an efficient and effective programme management process which supports colleagues across the Trust to deliver their objectives
Implement the Trust planning framework and processes, working closely with the Deputy Director of Strategy and Planning
Oversee the provision of high-quality data analysis, including benchmarking against other organisations, to inform and encourage the adoption of best practice locally
Oversee the maintenance of up-to-date project documentation, tracking of delivery of agreed schemes, benefits realisation and preparation of presentations on progress for senior stakeholders (including the Trust Board and organisations such as the NHS England)
Ensure key risks to programme delivery are proactively identified, escalated appropriately, and addressed with robust mitigations
Investigate and present complex project issues to senior management.
Develop a multiskilled team of project and programme managers who can support clinical divisions and support services with delivery of their individual strategies and improvement programmes
