The Roles
As a Group Non-Executive Directors at MFT you will work collectively with other Group Non-Executive Directors, the Group Chairman, Group Chief Executive and the Group Executive Directors and, in partnership with the Governors, you will work to ensure compliance with the terms of authorisation, the Trust’s constitution and contractual obligations. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of healthcare services, the application of the principles of corporate and standards of clinical governance and for the effective, efficient and economic exercise of the Trust functions.
About You
First and foremost, a passion for patients with a drive for enhancing our health services across our city and beyond, you will need an appreciation of the diversity of our stakeholder landscape. Naturally, you will have the capability and enthusiasm to support our ambitious vision within the context of significant change, transformation and opportunity, both within the organisation, the region and the wider NHS.

Cohesive and collaborative with the ability to build credible, trusting and honest relationships, you will possess innovation, passion and integrity in abundance. An understanding of robust corporate governance will be important and strong experience of developing high level strategy with an effective understanding of health, education, business or commercial environments would also be advantageous.
With two opportunities available, we are eager to hear from senior leaders with a breadth of experience acquired in complex or challenging businesses or organisations although not essential. It goes without saying you will be a well seasoned collaborator; equipped to support further development of our dynamic external partnerships. Ideally with experience of mergers, acquisitions or transformation within a commercial or strategic environment, we would welcome candidates with sound proven industry knowledge in areas such as HR & Organisational Development & Information Technology to drive some of our transformation agendas around these areas. We would also positively support applicants where this opportunity would be your first Non-Executive Director post, providing you with a thorough induction and ongoing support.
