Berkshire Healthcare has a record of achievement and success that places them as one of the best performing Trusts in the country. They are rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC, they have a history of strong financial performance and they have a highly skilled and engaged workforce. They aspire to be an outstanding organisation for everyone: their people, their patients, patients’ families, and their carers. For their people who work there that means they want Berkshire Healthcare to be a great place to work where everyone can thrive and grow.
Berkshire Healthcare knows that the challenges of the future are different to those of the past and that, if they are to be as successful going forward, they need strong and ambitious plans in place. To this end, they have developed an exciting three-year strategy in partnership with their staff and local communities, which was approved by their Trust Board in February 2021.
We’re now looking for an exceptional Executive Director of Strategy and Partnerships to work with them to help make their vision a reality. Joining a mature and stable leadership team, you’ll be a full-voting board member and play an active part in two Integrated Care Systems, build strategic relationships at place, system and region, and develop strategies and innovative approaches that will help their organisation and wider systems to transform to create a more sustainable future for the services they provide to some of the most vulnerable people in society. Importantly, too, you’ll support and create a culture that makes working for Berkshire Healthcare a positive experience for everyone, at every level of the organisation.
First and foremost, we need someone who’s aspirational for their communities with a real desire to address health inequalities. You’ll be a senior leader with experience of leading the development of corporate strategy and overseeing its delivery in the NHS or a similarly large and complex organisation in the public or private sectors. You’ll have deep knowledge of the NHS and the ambitions of the Long Term Plan and have a track record of delivering transformational change programmes across organisational boundaries. A genuine people person, you’ll demonstrate the inclusive, compassionate leadership abilities needed to develop a high-quality working environment and to embed their values in every aspect of their work.
We would welcome applications from people with the above attributes who are from a BAME background to improve the diversity of experience at the Board and from those with lived experience, either as carers or service users.
