Are you an experienced Nurse leader, who is visible, inclusive, and collaborative? Can you professionally lead Nursing, Midwifery, and Allied Health Professionals?
We are seeking an Executive Chief Nurse for University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT), to play a lead role in ensuring the delivery of the Trust’s vision to provide the highest possible standards of compassionate care, whilst supporting the very best patient and colleague experience.
As an influential nursing leader, you will be joining a supportive Trust which is passionate about developing and retaining its staff, through to Board level. Significantly, you will champion Continued Professional Development, to promote equal opportunities, no matter the clinical background. A key focus will also be promoting the ongoing development of integrated pathways and services, to deliver the system’s ambitions – better care, better health, delivered sustainably. We are a University teaching hospital providing community and hospital services across the Morecambe Bay area – covering a thousand square miles in South Cumbria and North Lancashire.
The successful candidate will be the executive lead for quality and safety and will strategically collaborate with the Trust Board on issues relating to patient safety and experience, infection prevention and control, clinical governance, and safeguarding. You would provide expert advice to the Board on clinical issues, governance, and risks in the context of the Trust’s strategic aims and objectives, including opportunities to develop non-medical professional roles and responsibilities. We are enthusiastic to hear from you; if you have an ability to ensure that clinical services operate seamlessly across primary and secondary care, in conjunction with independent and voluntary sector partners, and the wider Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB.
We are proud to have won the ‘Diverse Company Award’ in the National Diversity Awards in 2020, and first place in the UK top 50 inclusive employers awards in 2020, being recognised as the most inclusive employer out of the 110 member companies. UHMBT strongly encourages applications from all sections of the community, particularly from under-represented groups, including disabled people and Nursing leaders of Black, Asian, and minority ethnic backgrounds. Additionally, we encourage applications from all nursing specialties to welcome diversity of thought and practice at UHMBT.
