We are looking for a motivated and innovative Divisional Operations Director for Medicine and Urgent Care to plan and deliver the effective integrated clinical, operational and financial performance of the Division alongside the Divisional Nurse Director and Divisional Medical Director and contribute to shaping the future of our hospitals and developing the strategic direction of the Division and Trust.
As a versatile and visible leader, you will ensure that there are appropriate systems and processes in place to deliver objectives and drive forward the service to improve the operational effectiveness of the Division.
This is a pivotal role within our Medicine and Urgent Care Division, consisting of 2,800 staff and c£210m income budget. You will have a proven track record of delivery and transformation of services in a complex NHS Acute Trust and excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
You will be passionate about developing a culture that is focused on providing patient-centred care, embodying our organisational values, and providing the highest quality of service for our patients within our large multi-site teaching hospital.
The Divisional Operations Director will be accountable for the operational management of the Division, providing day to day leadership and support to the Heads of Operations and Directorate Managers, and take shared corporate responsibility for the operational and financial performance of the Trust.
You will provide effective direction in the operation and delivery of all services with the Division, supporting performance improvements and service developments.
As a proactive collaborator, you will represent the Division at local levels, developing partnerships, sharing best practice, and integrating this knowledge within the Trust.
The post holder will have responsibility for ensuring national and local access targets are achieved and ensure full compliance with the Trust’s Assurance Framework and any related standards including assurance on all corporate and clinical risks.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the divisional structure is fit for purpose to deliver Trust and national requirements along with ensuring all aspects of people and organisational development, performance and financial objectives are delivered.
The Divisional Operations Director will manage the division’s budget in line with standing financial instructions and standing orders and deliver efficiency improvements and costs savings to meet the Trust’s annual financial plan.
