At its simplest level, Surrey Heartlands is a partnership of health and care organisations working together – with staff, patients, their carers, families and members of the public – to transform local services and support people to live healthier lives. Coming together as an Integrated Care System (ICS) is a new and exciting way of working and gives us a greater opportunity to make real, lasting change, far more than we could do by working independently. To support our joined-up approach, we are creating a single joint Executive Leadership Team that will incorporate the ICS leadership arrangements and the CCG statutory portfolios.
Our Director of Workforce and Digital will lead the development of a ‘one workforce’ strategy in line with the NHS People Plan, setting and encouraging and incentivising expected culture, behaviours and values. They will manage system talent, develop an agile and healthy workforce, and value diversity. Working collaboratively with IT colleagues, the post holder will also design and drive the digital strategy so that it delivers major and complex change to meet the ICS’s vision.
This role requires a board-level NHS or social care leader with experience of applying people strategies that accelerate digital transformation towards success. You will have extensive experience of organisational development, workforce planning, staff engagement and equality, diversity and inclusion. From a technology perspective, you will understand the challenges, issues and opportunities of the emerging digital landscape including artificial intelligence and customer enablement. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to build trusted stakeholder relationships and wide support networks in a political context. Importantly, too, you will be independently minded, proactive and be ambitious to deliver change.
