Director of Performance and Assurance
The Integrated Care System for Devon (ICSD) is a partnership of NHS, local authority, public sector, voluntary, social enterprise and academic organisations. We work together to join up health and care services, listen to the priorities of our communities, local people and patients and tackle some of the biggest and most complex challenges facing health and social care services in Devon. We have an ambitious vision to empower and support healthy local communities; reforming services so that we can achieve improved wellbeing, better health and better care for our population whilst enhancing efficiently so that we can continue to offer clinically sustainable services and do this within available resources.
The Director of Performance and Assurance (DoPA) is responsible for the development of the Devon performance oversight and assurance framework, driving the development and delivery of the operating model towards self-regulation of the ICS Devon and the five LCPs (North, South, East, West & Plymouth).
The DoPA will work with NHSE/I South West to support and influence national and regional frameworks for oversight and assurance, also brokering the deployment of improvement resource (within Devon itself or from regional and national sources) to where its most needed within with ICS for Devon to support delivery or recovery of performance as required.
The post holder will ensure ICB assurance against the Improvement Assessment Framework and Long Term Plan deliverables and, in collaboration with the winter room, support the process for Devon-level escalation, including clinical escalation (acute, primary care, mental health and 111) to check and challenge processes for mutual support through periods of strain. The DoPA will also be the Accountable Emergency Officer for the ICS.
You will be a leader with substantial NHS operational experience at a senior level, have experience of building performance infrastructure and understand how to drive improvements in pathway performance. You will display the presence, experience and energy required to provide strong leadership and direction in order to achieve real results.
