Director of People

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust (FHFT) is one of the larger Trusts in the NHS. They have a record of success that places them as one of the best performing Trusts in the country and they are part of one of the highest performing integrated care systems nationally.

They want to remain amongst the best in the future, so they have recently developed an exciting and ambitious strategy, ‘Our future FHFT’, which is underpinned by their strong values and sets out what they will be looking to achieve for their local communities over the next five years.

There are many great developments ahead as part of their significant transformation agenda, including:

• the opening of the new Heatherwood Hospital – a £98million investment in the best elective care facilities in the country
• mobilisation of a state-of-the-art electronic patient record system with Epic Services Ltd
• further investment in the latest technologies and advances in medicine such as robotic surgery, and innovative drugs such as those for their cystic fibrosis patients
• investment in their ‘Frimley Excellence’ programme of continuous quality improvement which puts their people at the forefront of their systematic improvement and ensures high quality care for their patients
• continued high performance in finance, access and quality
• further development and building of their community services as the lead provider for out-of-hospital care for much of their community
• ongoing leadership nationally with their partners in integrating care for the benefit of their patients and communities.

Enabling their people to be the best they can be will be a key driver and enabler of their ambitions. For this reason, they have recently restructured their executive team to create a dedicated post of Director of People to provide their people agenda with the focus and leadership that it deserves for the future.

Their Director of People will be a pivotal role on their Board and executive team, providing leadership for their ambition to be in the top 10 employers nationally. Working closely with their Chief Executive, and leading on a comprehensive portfolio, you will help FHFT to deliver on their people plan, ensuring that their people are provided with the skills and knowledge required to work in different ways and that their workforce is fit for the care pathways of the future.

A genuine people person, you will also demonstrate the inclusive, compassionate leadership abilities needed to develop a high-quality working environment and embed their values in every aspect of their work. You will be equally able to inspire staff internally alongside playing a major system role, developing strategic partnerships, embracing and working collaboratively across the local health and care systems.
