Hertfordshire and West Essex ICB
Thank you for your interest in working with Hertfordshire and West Essex ICB (Integrated Care Board). We are looking for an exceptional Executive Director of Nursing and Quality (DoNQ) to join our Board. Established in July 2022, the ICB plans and buys healthcare services for 1.5 million people, working closely with our partners to improve the health and wellbeing of our increasingly diverse local population. The next DoNQ will be responsible, alongside the board, for making sure that our communities living within the ICB have the best opportunities to live happy and healthy lives, and get the support they need, when they need it.
We are looking for an established director who has a track record of inclusive, progressive, and innovative leadership, who will be motivated by Hertfordshire and West Essex ICB’s complex and challenging environment. With a budget of around £2.8 billion and a strong influence within the healthcare landscape given the scale of our ICB, this post offers an exciting opportunity to significantly influence the integrated care strategy, supporting social and economic development in West Essex and Hertfordshire, and beyond.
Key priorities for the successful candidate will include supporting the board to drive the ICB vision, role modelling excellent nursing leadership and cultural values across the patch, and engaging with key stakeholders, including local government partners in adult social care and children’s services, to advocate for continuously improving clinical outcomes. Given ongoing workforce challenges, a further focal point will be collaborating with colleagues in NHS Trusts to improve nursing recruitment and retention and to develop our nursing leaders of the future.
