Director of Business Intelligence & Performance

We are looking for an exceptional Director of Business Intelligence (BI) and Performance to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (UHSussex).

As one of the largest acute Trusts in the UK, UHS is proud to provide outstanding care to the people of West Sussex, Brighton and Hove and parts of East Sussex. Our seven hospitals host more than 1.5 million outpatient appointments, A&E visits, and surgery cases every year and we employ nearly 20,000 passionate staff across Sussex. We have bold ambitions – and in less than one year since our merger we have developed a new clinical operating model and strategy, enhanced our leadership team, and set out the ongoing improvements we want to make as part of the new ‘integrated care system’ to ensure Sussex is a leader in healthcare excellence.

The Director of BI and Performance will be responsible for developing a long-term vision and business intelligence strategy, which ensures the provision of an outstanding function and delivers analytics and insight for the Trust. Working closely with key stakeholders, the incumbent will support leadership teams to understand, analyse and facilitate decision making to develop and execute the Trust’s Patient First Strategy and operational delivery plans. The postholder will also lead the integrated Performance Framework assuring against key plans and targets, leading the strategy deployment review process.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal strategic role in newly-merged and developing Trust. The ideal candidate will have a demonstratable track record in delivering high-quality and innovative BI and performance functions within a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will demonstrate intellectual flexibility alongside a collaborative and influential working style.

We strongly encourage applications from all sections of the community, particularly from under-represented groups, including disabled people and members of our black, Asian and minority ethnic communities to improve the diversity of experience within our senior leadership team.
