Job summary
We are continuing the delivery of our 2023 -2027 Digital Strategy which is laid out over a 4-year programme plan whilst giving ample consideration to the changing needs and assets within our Trust, local population and our wider local health and social care organisations in a collaborative way.
We are looking for an exceptional Deputy CIO to join us at a pivotal and exciting time in our journey. The Deputy CIO will play a huge role in further developing key stakeholder relationships within the Care Groups and Corporate Functions in the Trust . The Deputy CIO will lead the delivery of our Digital Strategy, optimise our existing digital systems & solutions as well as managing and delivering the change requests from our customers across our suite of clinical systems. We are looking for a compassionate & experienced leader who has excellent interpersonal skills, possesses strong commercial acumen, a keen eye for innovation and has a successful track record of delivery of digitally enabled transformation. This leader will have the ability to steer the digital direction in the Trust and influence, inspire and unify those along the journey.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work closely with the AD Infrastructure and AD Informatics as part of the IM & T Senior Management Team supporting the CIO to deliver the Trusts’ Digital Strategy via the respective functions across the department. You will also be a value-driven leader who has a keen eye for identifying opportunities to further the Trusts’ digitization journey. You will help identify alternate funding sources and , with wider stakeholders , sell and make the case for change and the associated service improvement.

Thank you for your interest in joining our Trust as Deputy Chief Information Officer. We are very fortunate to have been able to make significant progress on our Digital journey as a Trust over the last ten years. At present, we are working towards achieving our HIMMS Level 6 accreditation as we continue to optimize our digital landscape with our various stakeholders across the Trust whilst maintaining the integrity of our architecture and infrastructure.

Qualifications
Essential
- Educated to degree level or higher or equivalent relevant experience
- Professional membership of FedIP- affiliated organization, e.g. BCS, SOCITM.
- Relevant Post-Graduate qualification or equivalent relevant experience
- Further specialist qualification in relevant subjects, e.g. programme management, health informatics
Knowledge
Essential
- In-depth experience of operating at senior management and board level, with national and international level partners.
- Extensive experience and the highest level of specialist knowledge of relevant healthcare systems and software.
- A deep interest and experience in digitally enabled service change and an ability to walk the boards alongside business colleagues and find these areas for maximum benefit
- An ability to keep the interest going so systems do not fall into misuse and taking appropriate action if this starts to occur
- Experience of working in a large and complex organisation
- Experience of developing highly complex Business Cases and managing associated schemes
- Experience of successful specification, procurement, and implementation of significant and specialist IT systems
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of the range of subjects covered by the job
- Extensive and specialist knowledge of relevant health informatics systems, software, integration, and associated standards
- In-Depth knowledge of contemporary system solutions, and ability to select the best options for a complex environment
