Job summary
We are looking for a dynamic company secretary to provide a range of effective administrative support services to the Chair, the Board of Directors, Governors and to the CEO and Executive team.
The role of Trust Secretary is a pivotal one within the Trust. The post holder acts as an advisor to the Chair, Chief Executive, Board, Council of Governors, Divisions and the organisation as a whole on all aspects of governance ensuring the Trust benefits from high quality, progressive governance practices.
Main duties of the job
Your role is to ensure that the business of the Trust Board is conducted smoothly and efficiently and to be the adviser to the Board on procedural matters, securing the Trusts compliance with all statutory and legal requirements.
You will be the first point of contact for Governors, Non-executive Directors and Executive Directors, ensuring compliance with financial and legal requirements, championing high standards of governance and promoting best practice.
You will build strong relationships across the Board and work within a culture of high performance. You will be trusted partner to the Chair of the Trust Board and CEO, providing expert, consistent advice and guidance on all governance and compliance matters. This will be enabled by an understanding of the vision and ethos of the Trust and the Council of Governors.
You will have substantial experience providing secretarial and administrative support at Board/Senior Management/ Governing Body level and hold a relevant qualification or working towards one (Chartered Secretary or Chartered Governance Professional) You will have substantial knowledge of governance procedures and legislation.
