We are looking for an exceptional Chief Information Officer to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (UHSussex).
As one of the largest acute Trusts in the UK, UHS is proud to provide outstanding care to the people of West Sussex, Brighton and Hove and parts of East Sussex. Our seven hospitals host more than 1.5 million outpatient appointments, A&E visits, and surgery cases every year and we employ nearly 20,000 passionate staff across Sussex. We have bold ambitions – and in less than one year since our merger we have developed a new clinical operating model and strategy, enhanced our leadership team, and set out the ongoing improvements we want to make as part of the new ‘integrated care system’ to ensure Sussex is a leader in healthcare excellence. This is an exciting role that reflects our commitment to digital transformation, and we are now seeking a CIO who shares our ambition.
The CIO will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and advice on IM&T/digital matters to the Executive Team and Trust Board, sharing expertise on healthcare IM&T, best practice methodologies, regulatory requirements, policy imperatives, innovation and technological developments. The postholder will support the implementation of the Trust’s clinical and operational strategies and delivery plans and lead the finalisation of the Trust’s Digital Strategy, alongside the ICS digital strategy. The incumbent will work closely with all key stakeholders and provide leadership on best use of digital systems to deliver the strategic objectives and transformational change in care.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal strategic role in newly-merged and developing Trust. The ideal candidate will have a demonstratable track record in delivering high-quality and innovative digital and change programmes, with an ability to steer the digital direction of the Trust and influence, inspire and unify those along the journey. You will be a compassionate, values-driven leader with strong emotional intelligence and high integrity.
We strongly encourage applications from all sections of the community, particularly from under-represented groups, including disabled people and members of our black, Asian and minority ethnic communities to improve the diversity of experience within our senior leadership team.
