At its simplest level, Surrey Heartlands is a partnership of health and care organisations working together – with staff, patients, their carers, families and members of the public – to transform local services and support people to live healthier lives. Coming together as an Integrated Care System (ICS) is a new and exciting way of working and gives us a greater opportunity to make real, lasting change, far more than we could do by working independently. To support our joined-up approach, we are creating a single joint Executive Leadership Team that will incorporate the ICS leadership arrangements and CCG statutory portfolios.
Our Chief Finance Officer will lead complex transformation and improvement, encourage a ‘one budget’ approach to decision-making, pool resources, and develop and implement financial strategy to aid the delivery of the strategies of the ICS and CCG. Delivering breakthroughs and making practical change lie at the heart of this role. To develop solutions, the post holder will need to challenge the status quo, foster a culture of authentic trust, and ensure strong engagement across senior leadership, staff, community players and the public.
This role requires a solutions-oriented finance leader with board-level experience in the NHS or social care. You will possess the ability to balance leading and empowering the finance team in the CCG with providing financial leadership across Surrey Heartlands to recognise and realise system-wide opportunities. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to build trusted stakeholder relationships and wide support networks in a political context. Importantly, too, you will be independently minded, proactive and be ambitious to deliver change.
