Chief Executive Officer

South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust – Chief Executive Officer

We are looking for an exceptional Chief Executive Officer to join our team at South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SECAmb).

SECAmb is an ambitious organisation with a commitment to improving and diversifying the services we provide to our local communities across Brighton & Hove, East Sussex, West Sussex, Kent, Surrey and North East Hampshire. We work across a diverse geographical area, which includes densely populated urban areas, sparsely populated rural areas and some of the busiest stretches of motorway in the country. We respond to 999 calls from the public, urgent calls from healthcare professionals and provide NHS 111 services across the region. Our patients range from the critically ill and injured who need specialist treatment, to those with minor healthcare needs who can be treated at home or in the community. SECAmb is committed to providing the right care, first time to all of our patients, giving them the best possible experience during what is usually an upsetting and emotional time.

The Chief Executive will lead the work to position SECAmb as a provider of the highest quality emergency and urgent care, delivered by staff who are inspired and empowered to give of their very best. They will be responsible for developing strong relationships with our key partners in the wider health and social care economy and for delivering tangible improvements to health and the quality of healthcare that make a positive difference to the communities we serve. They will lead a Just Culture and ensure SECAmb is well led and striving for continuous improvement to better support our patients.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal strategic role in an ever-evolving ambulance service. As such, we are seeking an experienced senior team member, with the ability to role model values-based behaviours, compassion, and inclusivity at the same time as a high-performance approach to delivery. The ideal candidate will demonstrate intellectual flexibility alongside a collaborative and influential working style.

We strongly encourage applications from all sections of the community, particularly from under-represented groups, including disabled people and members of our black, Asian and minority ethnic communities to improve the diversity of experience within our senior leadership team.
