The Integrated Care System for Devon (ICSD) is a partnership of NHS, local authority, public sector, voluntary, social enterprise and academic organisations. We work together to join up health and care services, listen to the priorities of our communities, local people and patients and tackle some of the biggest and most complex challenges facing health and social care services in Devon. We have an ambitious vision to empower and support healthy local communities; reforming services so that we can achieve improved wellbeing, better health and better care for our population whilst enhancing efficiently so that we can continue to offer clinically sustainable services and do this within available resources.

This new role within the Devon ICB holds responsibility for ensuring delivery of the Long Term Plan of the ICS, operational and transformation plans, the performance framework as well as a number of strategic commissioning areas.

The role will be responsible for ensuring that the ICB functions are effectively, efficiently and economically discharged with the aim of improving the safety and quality of services provided for patients, the health of the local population and the delivery of value for money.

 

The CDO will ensure robust plans are in place to achieve and maintain quality and performance of services across the ICSD while ensuring optimal performance from NHS Providers against national constitutional standards. The role will be central to ensuring the arrangements for sustained, acceptable performance are strengthened to enable greater confidence and reduced oversight and minimal intervention from regulators.

The role will also support the Chief Transformation and Strategic Officer (CTSO) in the production of the Long-Term Plan, making sure it reflects and integrates the strategies of all relevant partner organisations of the ICSD, with a particular focus on improvement in the quality and performance of services and the health of the local population whilst maintaining value for money.

The role will take responsibility for providing system support to Local Care Partnerships (LCP) and the Provider Collaboratives (PC) ensuring agreed ICB specific objectives and delivered as well as holding them to account for delivery of their operational plans.

As a leader with substantial experience of operational CEO or Executive Director level leadership within a health or social care Provider organisation, you will display the presence, experience and energy required to provide strong leadership and direction in order to achieve real results. Effective delivery and accountability are key requirements of this role together with the ability to work as part of team and act as a compassionate leader. Accountable to the CEO, this significant, influential and high-profile role will attract a highly competitive remuneration package.
