Board Members - British Home

Founded in 1861, with a proud history of care and support, British Homes is a Royal Charter Charity that supports people living with neuro-disability. We provide a range of life-improving services including residential care, respite support and palliative care. Our Streatham Common base has capacity for 80 residents, all of whom have been affected by neuro-disability whether as a result of accident or trauma, stroke or as a consequence of a degenerative condition or illness. These are complex conditions and for those living with them there are often significant and complex physical and psychological difficulties, but our focus on our residents’ individual care enables them to live every day of their lives as fully as they can.

These are exciting times for the charity – our ambition is to become a national leader in the provision of high-quality rehabilitation services and we are planning significant investment over the coming years, including the redevelopment of our existing building to create a state-of-the-art facility. Our Board, in partnership with the senior executive team, is crucial to the successful running of the organisation and we are now seeking two new clinically-qualified Trustees to join us. The ideal candidates will have a passion for driving continuous improvement in patient care and service quality and the ability to provide clinical and strategic guidance to support our objectives and growth. Board level experience as either an executive or an NED would be helpful as would a relevant clinical background – neurology neuropsychology, intensive care, orthopaedic (spinal specialty) and emergency and rehabilitative medicine.
