North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust is a thriving District General Hospital based in Edmonton, North London. It serves a diverse, multicultural population largely from the boroughs of Enfield and Haringey. The Trust employs over 3,500 staff, more than half of whom live locally.
Like all NHS organisations, North Mid has been challenged by COVID-19 in recent months, but they have managed through this period of unparalleled demand thanks to the extraordinary commitment of their wonderful staff and the close working relationships they have with their partners and local community.
The pandemic has led to significant changes in how NHS services are delivered and used in North Central London and has seen an acceleration of policies that have previously only made incremental progress. North Mid’s next Chief Executive will build on this momentum by engaging in their ICS to develop and deliver shared plans that meet the needs of the local health economy as well as those of North Mid.
To ensure the Trust leads the way on collaborative working, the Chief Executive will help North Mid to embed a partnership with the Royal Free London – a partnership that will provide resilience, responsiveness and opportunity for both organisations, supporting their wider aim of becoming involved in the area of prevention and population health and working with local government and primary care colleagues to develop high quality and efficient pathways of care.
This will be an exciting and challenging role in equal measure. First and foremost, North Mid needs someone who is aspirational for their communities with a real desire to address health inequalities. You will be an experienced leader who will bring an innovative, creative approach and a transformational mindset to our team. A genuine people person, you will also demonstrate the inclusive, compassionate leadership abilities needed to develop a high-quality working environment and to embed their values in every aspect of their work. You will be equally able to inspire staff internally alongside playing a major system role, developing strategic partnerships, embracing and working collaboratively across the local health and care system.
